Last night I got off the bus near I-5 to meet [livejournal.com profile] whip_poor_will at Kate's Pub. That place is weirdly hilarious, so near the UW yet we got carded. We then justified it by telling Yr Mom jokes for an hour. We got ready to leave and [livejournal.com profile] quent walked up just as we walked out. He gave us a ride to Smash Wine Bar, though, where we met [livejournal.com profile] velvet.

The whole point of this was partly Reg's birthday and partly I had spent $3 for a $25 off coupon and was all excited. We got a cheese plate, sliders, duck spring rolls, fancy round tater tots with sour cream, chives, and bacon - and roasted potato ravioli with brown butter sauce and bacon-grease-sauteed chard. Um, yes. I got a glass of house Cab and it was fantastic. Plus Keely bought me a drink earlier, before having eaten, so it hit me pretty hard.

So we were being super ultra goofy and Quent had his digital recorder out. We kept forgetting about it, especially when the boys were smoking and we were talking about girly shit. (Like penises.) Anyway it was all very fun, we showed off our Droids, Quent showed off his iPhone apps, and Keely drooled and talked about the host of Blind Date. Apparently he was also in That's So Raven. Reg accused her of having lost all "intercred."

All in all it was an awesome evening, but I was so drunk afterwards that I just wanted to go home and watch the ceiling spin. And so I did. Slept poorly and am about to go pass out now. Woooooo.

Record snowfall hit Seattle today. Reg and I ran over to Issaquah real quicklike to drop off the Volvo and grab the Mercedes SUV. Four Wheel Drive For The Win. Seattle - well, Bellevue really - is in a "convergence zone" and 6 inches fell the other day whereas only 3 fell here. Anyway I've started using "convergence zone" as a euphemism for awful clusterfuck situations. It was, for example, convenient to use the term while driving. "Look out Reg, convergence zone of IDIOTS up ahead" for a traffic jam or whatever.

So we drove around a lot, from Issaquah home, from home to Northgate- which was utter hell, took us 45 minutes to go 6 miles or so. The snow had started to fall and people went crazy. I mean, you can GO OVER 25MPH ok. We went back via UDistrict, and it took 20 minutes. The other factor of course was the holiday shoppers. I keep forgetting, it's Xmas soon. Anyway, we came home and showered and then went over to hang with Jeremy. We headed up to 15th to see what WAS in fact open, and settled on Hopvine. Had tasty hummus plate and then [livejournal.com profile] thingstouchme and [livejournal.com profile] calmkelp joined us. I like those kids. (Fun fact: I met Travis on Friendster! I MADE A FRIEND MAN.)

After we finished we headed to Chapel to meet Chris and Kate. The Santas were there - Santarchy was this Saturday in Seattle - and we had to go through a parcel of them to get to the bar. Unfortunately this was b/c they were leaving, so about 20 minutes after arriving, the bar was kinda dead. Still, they have excellent cocktails, and we enjoyed them for a time before rejoining the Santas over at Cha Cha. Saw Ang, ChrisMD, Jack, Sean... good times. Except I got a terrible headache so I couldn't really drink. We took photobooth photo that was utterly awful, I'll scan it in later.

We then stuffed almost all of these people into the SUV and went back to Jeremy's. My headache was super bad so I just napped upstairs for a while. Sherah joined me at some point and we snuggled under the covers, chatting and petting the kitty. I told her the story of how Reg and I started dating, and then Reg came up. It was all "awww" and shit. I was feeling better so I went downstairs and attempted to snuggle Ang for a while as she talked about Enemy of the State. Reg was feeling a bit crappy, and it was nearly 4am, so we decided to head out. Dropped Travis and Sherah off at their place - nice little drive down Belmont and Boylston in the FOOT OF SNOW. Then the drive home, apparently our I5 exit was "closed" (not plowed) but we got through it.

SERIOUSLY driving with Reg in the SUV in these conditions is SO FUN. And Seattle is SO beautiful all covered in snow, especially Woodland Park. Eastside, also pretty, snow snow snow. I am totally going to grab my skis and hike up a hill later.

Beacon Pub karaoke was pretty fun, except there were so goddamned many people singing that despite arriving at 9:30 or so and leaving around 1:30, most of us only got to sing two songs. I did "Mysterious Ways" and "Once Bitten Twice Shy." Reg did "All I Want Is You" and "True Faith." Um I didn't drink a ton so I remember almost every song our crowd did, unless I didn't really know the song... [livejournal.com profile] quent did "No One Knows" and "Virtual Insanity", [livejournal.com profile] dearnana did "Gangsta's Paradise", some Fiona Apple number, and took Asa's missing turn for "Boyz in the Hood". [livejournal.com profile] asabass did "What's so funny about peace love and understanding?" and I forget. [livejournal.com profile] uncelestial did "Ain't Nothin' But A G Thing" and "You Keep Me Hangin' On." [livejournal.com profile] baroof did "Sweet Chil' O' Mine" pitch perfect as he is wont to do.

Before that Reg, Katie the Gimp, [livejournal.com profile] suxdonut, [livejournal.com profile] clay88, [livejournal.com profile] drinkyclownhuh and I all had sushi at Aoki. It felt like we got too much food, and some people got booze, and we even got dessert - Will showed up and ate the leftovers - and the bill was only $121. I felt pretty happy about this, even though the kids didn't want to come with us to karaoke. Oh well. All in all it was a really nice Friday night, except when I drank too much Red Bull and yelled at Reg for getting lost. Cos really how can you not get lost in Beacon Hill?

Finally got more than 6 hours of sleep, although I did have to go to bed before 11pm.

But I went out at 6pm so that isn't so bad. This partying early thing kind of rules. Plus I sang ONCE BITTEN TWICE SHY. Although it was sped up a bit much.

The bad: I twisted my ankle in such a manner that it doesn't hurt, but the right side of my right foot REALLY does.

1) so i kind of drove out to bellevue for naught, but the recruiter seemed to like me ok. I'll hear monday.

2) my unemployment application got approved for $300/week (for 20 weeks). Which is about what I took home at my job-before-this. I'm kind of happy.

3) thanksgiving at [livejournal.com profile] ashlin519's was pretty boss. We got hella drunk on nothin' but wine (and beer but me and reg aren't so beery) and Reg started spouting awesome conspiracy theories of WW2 shit + Illuminatus! trilogy shit. I was hoping he was fucking around. Oh yeah the food and friends were great. We made new karaoke friends, I hope. PICS HERE.

4) we had to drive to Issaquah to pick up the SUV for skiing at midnight. I got to bed at 1am and the alarm was set for 6 (then rapidly set for 6:20). We got moving with Heather and Michael about 7:15, McD's at breakfast - my first meal there in probably 7 years. I do love their biscuits. Perfectly dry yet greasy enough.

5) Skiing at Stevens was kind of miserable. The snow was thick and visibility was low, the only non-crowded lift was the slooooow one, and Reg took a nasty spill head-first onto some ice. But we got there before ten and didn't leave till 3. I am a lot better than I was last year! I am happy with my progress, although of course I need to KEEP GETTING BETTER and work on fries not pizza. Also hockey stops.

6) As for myself I had some entertaining falls, once in a big snow drift (got stuck in another later) and a few standard hill ones, and then on my last run RIGHT BEFORE GETTING ON THE LIFT. But I was fine and got on, and then once we got to the top, Paul and Shannon wiped out on top of each other. It's all good.

7) I made some scratch hot cocoa on the stove and added amaretto to mine and Heather's when we returned. The traffic for once was not horrible on 2.

So Reg called me after work, he was downstairs at McCormick's with [livejournal.com profile] ashlin519 and [livejournal.com profile] asiangoddess4. So I met them for drinks and appetizers, and then [livejournal.com profile] asabass came along. We brought Ashley to the liquor store, then invited [livejournal.com profile] quent over to play PervArtistry, which is the generic name for Dirty Pictionary I suppose. Anyway we got a little sloppy then started drawing big cocks and naked girls. That game is pretty fun, let me tell you. And of course I impressed everyone with Lemon Drops and Screaming Orgasms. The bottle of amaretto I bought 2+ years ago is ALMOST empty now.

First up: Meg's party at China Gate's bar. Holy shit that place is so utterly tacky. And apparently the clientelle consists of mostly asians who sing translated songs. I hope they were, anyway, because they were so bad and the videos were so funny. If the mike worked properly I'd give it five stars. Plus the drinks were strong as fuck.

Second: Richard Buckner at Sunset. Not exactly my scene, but I was drunk and Reg was psyched and I had a really good time. That went till about one. Then we went home to prepare for Rockstars vs. Pornstars. Reg and I were ultra-hot.

We got there and of course the fucking asshole losers who were running it were kicking everyone out at 2. Um, hello? If you are gonna have a fucking party at your house, let it run its course, otherwise just have it at a bar where you don't have to supply people with alcohol or space to trash. I mean what the fuck ever.

So we headed to Sid's place, but he was so incredibly fucked up that he passed out around four. Before that I was feeling randy and offered to give anyone hickeys who wanted them. I was wearing this tight leopard print tank top thing, hot pants, knee-highs and my boots, so a lot of people as well were spanking me.

So then we went home and stayed up till maybe 6am just having conversations and stuff. LJ-name dropping: [livejournal.com profile] baroof, [livejournal.com profile] lisa, [livejournal.com profile] barbaloot, [livejournal.com profile] patrick (whom is probably still asleep on my couch). Good times.

Last night Steve was in the shower, as he is wont to do before going out. I was happy about this for several reasons, but unhappy for several reasons. Because, you see, our house has two bathrooms, but only enough hot water for one shower at a time. (Not to mention the dishwasher can't be run and needed to be, but that's not relevant.) And I was sorely in need of a shower, my hair was a greasy mess. So we've politely agreed that only one person can shower at a time, so we can both have hot water. However. Steve tends to take hour-long showers or so. Why? I have no freakin' idea.

[Poll #233183]

So I was patiently waiting for him to finish when Reg called me to let me know he was on his way over. "Uh oh," I gulped, and ran upstairs. Where my other roommate, Randy, was walking about naked in order to take his shower. Dizzamn. I was foiled again. But he's a reasonable man who takes showers of reasonable length, so I was actually all gussied up before Reg arrived.

After a few detours, we headed out to ReBar where Sid's band was playing. Also Infomatik (we missed the first band, whatev) whom we'd just seen Sunday but damn. "What would happen if Interpol fucked the Faint?" Saw lots of people I knew and am so tired of, well not really, but damn. Also, slutty nurses. They gave away vibrators to people who got up on stage and told jokes. I spent a good amount of time thinking of the perfect joke, but unfortunately it materialized after the contest was over.*

And later Sid rocked out so hard he kept pulling out the mike cord. I kept yelling for him to take off his pants, but all we got was one shoe. And a broken drumstick but that was from the drummer. He also offered to take Reg home, but I was all like "MINE". We headed to Contour afterwards with [livejournal.com profile] quent. Last Heliotrope or something. Steve was all "WE NEED A NIGHT BACK" and so we decided that after his tonsil shit was taken care of, we would do it.
