I read Pink Slip Party at Border's (part last week, rest today). It was... ok. Slightly better than mediocre, but maybe only because I can oh-so-relate to the subject matter. Anyway. Now I want to write a novel that's better than that but still girly enough to make money? I think for now I'll just work on the one I've got. I haven't fucking touched it since, oh, god, Jan 27th. I was thinking about it the other day, it was so hard to get to that point, cos like, the beginning is boring, of course. But now I'm at the EXCITING part, I think, so here we go again.
Jaysus my fucking neck/shoulders/head hurt, I don't know why, unless it's from reading in bed at a weird angle. I was browsing in Border's after work Friday, and realized I could not recall if I'd read the last Robert Jordan or not. Well, I own it, so I must have read it, but I don't remember anything that happened.
Friday night we ran the 4*/duckie gauntlet, and fell asleep in his bed. Heh. But we woke up bright and early and headed to Cap Hill. We stopped at Laughing Buddha to get some jewelry, and the Tim Oliphant lookalike working there changed my lip piece and Reg's tongue stud. We then went into the S&M shop, looked for
barbaloot in the Book of Erotic Fantasy, and bought a few "things."
Next, coffee and books. I used the gift certificate that
sarahbliss had given me to pick a few things up, and then on a whim decided to hit the Metro. They were having a huge 50% off sale, so we just wasted a ton of time trying things on that didn't necessarily look so good. But some of it did. After that we headed north to Best Buy, and, then, home home home. Modeled clothing for each other, then Reg went home briefly. I fell asleep while reading Crossroads, and decided to stay in when he got back. So, we watched Kill Bill v1. I hadn't seen it yet, and I'm kind of 'meh' about it. Slick and glossy and pretty, but that's about it. Oh well, I'm sure it would have been more fun on a big screen.

two minute warning
Mar. 10th, 2004 09:57 amthis cracked me up.
i've slowed down lots and lots with the Angel watching, mainly because 1) at my previous rate of consumption, I would have been finished like, now 2) it takes time to "acquire" episodes, and 3) I wasn't getting any exercise. Monday I totally walked a bunch and then yesterday, well, I didn't do anything but I cooked, which involves standing up*, and today I'm going skiing. Tomorrow I suspect I'm just going to lay around and moan, though. And, go to the grocery store.
I started on Dharma Bums last night, and already it's going much much faster than that other book, about a hundred pages already, and it's making me actually want to go camping. Well, I can wait for Coachella I guess.
* when the most standing you've done for a week is to go to the bathroom, this is exercise.

This weekend seemed to drag on and yet at the same time ended too soon. I think that's because of the television, though. I am going to be in big trouble now; with delivery Thai and Netflix there's absolutely no reason to ever leave my room again. Premium cable can suck it.
So yes obviously I got back my income tax refund and have been throwing cash around like mad. But not really; I may just return the television. Who knows. Mainly I've been paying my bills. Anyhoo I also got the new Terry Pratchett paperback, Nightwatch, which I pretty much sped through so quickly that I could barely tell you what it's about. Well ok, Vimes goes back in time to um, well, I didn't quite get why he did, except to get a good doctor's name. Oh and there were some great bits with Vetinari as a young Assassin I guess. No I enjoyed it alot but there just, well, didn't seem to be much of a point to the whole game. Just reusing the history monks. Still of course, I plan on buying every single Discworld book I don't own at some point.
Other than that, been thinking about Coachella. Part of me thinks I'm too old, then part of me is like "fuck that." The money issue is another; will definitely want to return that TV if I do this. Anyway basically every single band (except Interpol and Morrissey and New Order) that I like at all is going to be there. Presales are already going on so I suppose I'll decide before the official sale (this saturday). Probably yes.
