Even after five hours of sleep, I still don't look too terrible, I guess.

(After watching Fight Club, Reg decided to make it a Fincher night and put on Se7en, which I had actually never seen before. And yada yada I got five hours of sleep before the dump trucks came.)

So just before I went on the cruise last year, I cut all my hair off and put blond streaks in it. As it grew out, it kept not really looking that bad, and Reg kept insisting I leave it long. The other thing was, I was unemployed and looking for work, so I didn't want to do anything super weird with it.

Right now it looks like this. I put my hair up a few weeks ago and dyed the bottom half. You can't really tell so much in that pic, but the effect is pretty cool in person.

dearnana did the red bits, they should probably be touched up soon. I usually use "chocolate cherry" Feria but I want something more dramatic to stand up against the blond. The cool thing about having long layers and just dying some of the layers is that it's actually pretty hard to tell when the dye grows out.

Unfortunately I'm getting pretty sick of having long hair. I do have hair past my shoulders often but, um, only because I don't like getting haircuts. This style is great for me because I can just cut it myself - just pull it up above my head and make sure it's all the same length. And as long as you don't cut too much, there's no way to fuck it up. Except with regard to bangs, which I just don't know how to make perfect. Especially cos I'm parting my hair on my right - stupid b/c of my cowlick, but I feel weird parting it on the left.

I'm somewhat tempted to do something weird with the blond part. Like I said, I haven't used weird colors b/c of the unemployed thing but NOW I WORK FOR THE BORG, and one of the benefits is no one cares what you look like. I'm just not sure what weird color to go for, or if I even really want to. It would have to be a "warm" color b/c "cool" colors on my hair make me look dead. (While "cool" lipsticks make me look alive.)

I've been growing my hair out and cutting it myself. It's shockingly easy to cut your own hair into layers that are semi-80s metal and semi-70s pinup. I've also highlighted it a few times, although I must admit Reg's help is very necessary. So I'm thinking I will do chocolate "lowlights" this weekend.

I got my hair cut and found the deodorant I thought I'd lost when I started work again. The cheap substitute just did not work as well.

I don't know what it is about you people with SAD, but I really want to bash your skulls in with a baseball bat. Edit: not because I don't believe it exists, or because I think it's easy to fix. I just get annoyed easily.

In other news, I got a haircut downstairs. It's a pretty swanky little place, but I was all nervous someone would notice I was gone so I didn't let her fix a couple things. She and the other woman were Russian, both just at the cusp where hotRussian becomes baboushka. She asked how old I was. She guessed 19. Almost ten years, well done, Daddy's genes. That, the small nose and the pale skin are winnars. Also, the ability to do math.

Speaking of faggotry, I bleached my ends and applied purple and let it dry/harden/crackle, then brushed it and put more on and let it dry. Slept on it and showered before lunch. You can tell in the sunlight but nowhere else that the tips are purple, b/c it's a rather dark purple that kinda just looks black.

I look severely goth, even in a tank top and DKNY red sweater hoody. This hoody is rather ineffective in the warmth department, as it has a deep scoop neck. It looks really hot on me, esp. over a similarly low-cut tank top, but dang it cold. Anyway I had a few double-takes at the BurningSham party when they saw me, and my favorite quote:
