sometimes I'm white trash
Sep. 2nd, 2007 10:45 amReg and I tend to part ways on the instant vs. homemade debate (he really does prefer Kraft Dinner to oven baked macaroni and cheese), but the one thing we can agree on came clear yesterday. He announced, after a day of gluttony, we needed pudding pie. I immediately told him to get COOL WHIP instead of that real cream canister shit. Man, the memories I have of eating half a container of Cool Whip just out of the fridge... whew. (However I will never ever claim that I'd even seen real people dipping pork products into maple syrup before I moved to North Carolina.)
The gluttony consisted of not much more than five pounds of grapes (of which I think we ate 2 lbs), a banana, 2lbs of slow-cooked pork, and mashed potatoes cooked in the Turbo Cooker Plus. This little gadget was given to us, free, by an eBaying neighbor. I boiled the potatoes in 30 minutes; it was pretty nice. We call it "The Super Pan".
