I really really liked the See Sound Lounge, it was big and airy and IKEA'd out and the music was at the perfect level of "chill" when I arrived. Also the lighting was brilliant, and there were a million different vodkas on the shelves.

I read Sedaris' new book last night; I think he's kind of losing it. The second half of the essays were entertaining, but not so much the first half. Maybe his childhood just isn't funny anymore. Steve kept insisting that he'd "made up" two new siblings, but I definitely remember the Rooster. Not so much Tiffany the chef, though I'm sure she exists too. "Woptoberfest" I mean.

The plan for tonight is to go to IKEA then sushi. Time to ransack the website.

Hmm, I didn't know you liked to go to those skanky, yuppy, 30yo+ places... with no air conditioning either.

it was fairly triple-door yuppie style, except really most of the people were in their late 20s.

no shit! i got about halfway through and then set it aside, and i've been proscrastinating since. they're just not that good. and some of them, i could swear i've read before. i really liked the one about the little girl, brandi, but yeah, nothing else has really floored me so far. and that guy is my literary hero. it's hard to take.

(i remember tiffany's name being dropped, but he hasn't written about her before. he's got four sisters, so.)

the stories about tiffany and the rooster (his wedding, then his first child) were the best.

Tiffany is mentioned briefly in the book Naked.
There is Lisa, him, Gretchen, Amy, Tiffany and Paul. (sad that I know this...)

I think in the latest book he becomes much more sentimental about things. Age does that to a person.

Rooster is the best.

One of these days I'm going to go out... I live ridiculously close to Seattle, and yet I haven't been there since I moved back here. Vodka sounds good.
