I just watched Quills for the second time. Well, most of it, anyway. I just like the pervy parts. There's oh-so-much sexual tension in there, just about to boil over but never quite making it. I don't like the end, so I didn't watch it. After they kill um, yeah, give it away. Anyway the last 30 minutes or so aren't very erotic, just political. I can't believe how incredibly despicable Michael Caine's character is.

The whole point of the movie is basically that Writing is Good even when it's Bad. And also that real writers just can't turn it off. Oh, and that hurting women for sexual purposes isn't that cool in real life. There's many themes, really.

Well, hurting anyone --not just women, you sexist-- for sexual purposes isn't cool if they don't consent. But hell, you like getting your ass spanked, no? some people consider that physical abuse, you know. The difference is that instead of you saying "I'm taking this to court!" I'm guessing you say something more...um....sexy.

oh how i love that film..but i think they could have amde it a bit more...sexual, i mean, you are talking about the Marques De Sade!!

when i watched quills i thought it should have a happy ending with a nice menage a trois between the priest, servant girl, and the Marquis.

Also, I think after watching Kate Winslet with Joaquim Pheonix you realize what a crime her pairing with Leonardo was in Titanic. Sorry if you like Leonardo, of course.

I think you are 100% correct. Fuck, she had more chemistry with Emma Thompson in Sense and Sensibility than Leo.
