lauralhClue is an enjoyable movie mainly for the one-liners. So you can basically skip past all the annoying middle plot bits, and just watch the first hour and last fifteen minutes.
Steve and I have started the Foreign Film Fest at the Cult of the Red Door. We broke in with Brotherhood of the Wolf, which is a Hong Kong action flick done by the frogs. With a serious goth sensibility. It was definitely enjoyable but OMG was it a freaky ass movie. Incest, whorehouse, secret societies dedicated to the end of the world, and guillotines. (Well, ok, no actual guillotines.) And a magical Indian dude (native american). The director needs some serious smacking around, or at least an editor who could go behind his back and chop the movie up. Unnecessarily long and gory.
I suppose next we'll watch Red or White or something.
