Clue is an enjoyable movie mainly for the one-liners. So you can basically skip past all the annoying middle plot bits, and just watch the first hour and last fifteen minutes.

Steve and I have started the Foreign Film Fest at the Cult of the Red Door. We broke in with Brotherhood of the Wolf, which is a Hong Kong action flick done by the frogs. With a serious goth sensibility. It was definitely enjoyable but OMG was it a freaky ass movie. Incest, whorehouse, secret societies dedicated to the end of the world, and guillotines. (Well, ok, no actual guillotines.) And a magical Indian dude (native american). The director needs some serious smacking around, or at least an editor who could go behind his back and chop the movie up. Unnecessarily long and gory.

I suppose next we'll watch Red or White or something.

every time i go movie shopping, i've been meaning to get that movie, but always forget it exists for some reason.

much like spinach dip. out of sight/out of mind, but whenever someone brings it up, it's my ABSOLUTE FAVE FOOD AND I WOULD DIE FOR SOME.

ugh. i love hong kong action movie, but i'm sorry, broterhood of the wolf was awful.

my parents told me i should see it. . . i demanded they reimburse me the next day

i saw it at an arty movie theater, and after it ended instead of clapping, as is the custom, everyone spontaneously started booing. it was quite spectacular.

ok and why the fuck was that guy hiding his arm? i get that it added RELIGIOUS SYMBOLISM with the mark of hte beast and all, but it makes NO SENSE THAT HE'D HIDE HIS ARM

With a serious goth sensibility.

what's so sensible about being Goth?

well, if they're still BEING goth, that means they haven't slashed their wrists yet, which ipso facto makes them one of the sensible ones.

simple.

that's counterintuitive. if they're goth, they obviously don't have much going on in their lives that's worth a fucking piss - so if they haven't slashed their wrists yet, that would not be sensible whatsoever.

the ones that have slashed their wrists seem like the sensible ones to me.

this debate gives a whole new meaning to the title Sense and Sensibility.

But actually, your way fits the movie better - I haven't seen it, but I know it's full of losers dying messily and bloodily left and right. So "goth sensibility" would equate to "you're a loser, so die already", which the movie apparently has going on in spades.

I know a number of people obsessed with the movie clue.
My best friend Kurt (an adorable gay man with a deep love of Ewan McGregor) can recite that entire movie...which is sorta weird.

If you are watching foreign films, watch Antonia's Line.
It is sort of a chick flick, but if a chick flick was made all fucked up.
It makes fun of the church, there are retarded people, lesbian sex, and weird danish people.

One of my favorite movies, nevermind that it's foreign.
