another idea for an SF story

If transporter technology across the planet were a reality...

night owl people would live in the east coast and work in CA

we could actually hang out with our net.friends

people would live wherever rent was cheapest and party/work wherever was best
but then of course, there'd be a ridiculous period where the midwest became crowded and NYC and London became ghost towns, till everything stabilized...

you'd probably get caught pretty easily, though. I mean I'd see everything going through some kind of computer (to prevent bank robberies and other illegal acts)...

the photo was taken in sept 1996, on the ferry coming back from alaska. i had just finished working 14 hrs a day for 60 days in a row. i was very happy. it was a lollipop. yes.

I would love to live in a big house in the Rockies somewhere, outside of town, work in Pasadena or Cupertino, spend my evenings in New York coffee shops/shows/clubs, and Saturdays bouncing around Seattle.

Every fourth weekend -- Prague or Amsterdam.
