another idea for an SF story

If transporter technology across the planet were a reality...

  • night owl people would live in the east coast and work in CA
  • we could actually hang out with our net.friends
  • people would live wherever rent was cheapest and party/work wherever was best
    but then of course, there'd be a ridiculous period where the midwest became crowded and NYC and London became ghost towns, till everything stabilized...
