how many words does that make now, total? how many do you think there will be? a friend of mine is working on a novel that he hopes to finish by xmess.

so right now there's 70K words or so, I believe. I'm going to finish at 100K I imagine, but I'm going to try to edit it back down to 70K. While I was unemployed I wrote the bulk of it, but having a job really gets in the way of writing.

And I'm totally determined to sell it, in the worst way imaginable. Right now it's meandering crap but it's still stronger than most of what I've written, and I have no qualms about modifying the presentation until it's poised to knock that Harry Potter shit off the block. (it's also about kids doing magic.)

damn job. get your book published and you'll never have to work again!
i wanted to write fiction when i was in high school, but my lack of self-discipline barred me from anything over 15 pages. now i think i'd like to write a non-fiction book. in another 10 years or so, perhaps..
