I just wrote another thousand words on my novel. At this rate I'll be finished by the time I'm thirty...

how many words does that make now, total? how many do you think there will be? a friend of mine is working on a novel that he hopes to finish by xmess.

so right now there's 70K words or so, I believe. I'm going to finish at 100K I imagine, but I'm going to try to edit it back down to 70K. While I was unemployed I wrote the bulk of it, but having a job really gets in the way of writing.

And I'm totally determined to sell it, in the worst way imaginable. Right now it's meandering crap but it's still stronger than most of what I've written, and I have no qualms about modifying the presentation until it's poised to knock that Harry Potter shit off the block. (it's also about kids doing magic.)

damn job. get your book published and you'll never have to work again!
i wanted to write fiction when i was in high school, but my lack of self-discipline barred me from anything over 15 pages. now i think i'd like to write a non-fiction book. in another 10 years or so, perhaps..

good luck to you.

I love it. I love reading it now, and I was much more into magic and dragons five years ago. You go, Laural. You should get it published, because it is that good. So.

oooh, you're so sweet. I'll have to put more of it up, just for you.

I'm actually getting into a groove here, too. I'm about to write the first actual dragon attack, after only 250 pages of buildup...

Yay! You put more of it up!

I've always been an avid reader of your stuff. I know nothing about how technically good it is, or how publishable, but I know that I'm a member of the general public and I really really like it. So other people should. Too bad you can't write as fast as you caN read, but damn, I wish I had 76,000 words of a novel done :)
