"Guilty Conscience take two" [feat. Dr. Dre and Eminem]

Meet Billy, fourteen years old.
At the record store, he buys Eminem's latest album
with the intention of uploading it to the Internet.
But suddenly, his conscience comes into play...

[Dre]
Alright stop!
Now before you turn the computer on
and rip the songs from the CDrom
You better think of the recording artists

[Eminem]
That's nonsense!
Put it in and make the MP3s
And then upload them all to Audiogalaxy
We'll get a thousand hits today
The future is this way, and fuck the RIAA

[Dre]
But if the songs go up like they're supposed to
No one buys the albums and the labels drop you
Think about the royalties before you rip the audio
All that money, you know where it's gotta go

[Eminem]
Fuck that Dre, you know they'll buy it anyway
My numbers get higher every single day
So much profit off my freestyle shit
ICP got nothing off this bitch

[Dre]
Man you don't know what you sayin Slim
You gotta see that people WON'T buy your album
They get the music for free and where does that leave me?

[Eminem]
Suck my dick Dre, I love MP3s!

He mentions ICP in like half of his songs, yo. Seriously.

I guess ICP thought at one time that they were genuine "rappers" and they dissed Eminem publicly, and it's been back and forth ever since.

Personally, I dig both The Great Milenko and Eminem's first CD (can't remember the name), but hey. White rappers will be white rappers, I guess.

Cassettes don't have auto-seek to next track, though. And they're more expensive to produce than CDs, and are sold for less.

some stereos have autoseek on the tape deck. Some of my happiest times in childhood are learning how to rewind a tape to the precise opening moment of my favorite songs.

Most of the tapes in my gigantic box o' tapes are unlabeled. I recognize them by sight, based on what point in the tape they're rewound to.

I still find that tapes are the most useful for learning music -- rewinding just a measure or two is perfect on a tape -- even if that section of the tape drops out after about an hour in my tape masher (I shudder to imagine how difficult it was in the days of old when they had to use records -- way back when Beethoven was around).
