I think in those situations you have to turn off a lot of emotions and just get shit done. From dealing with the insurance companies to making sure the other person involved has their crap together. But that is my feeling about nearly any stressful situation. Emotions and stress can be saved for later.
well yes, but some people will feel more "fight" and others more "flight." The prevailing theory is that the former outnumber the latter 2:1, so I was seeing if there were more "flight" types on my Friendslist.
You should have used that as a guage versus aggressiveness. I fight in stressful situations, but associate aggressive behavior with screaming and such. If I was going off of fight/flight I would answer with a ten but with agressive/freezing up I would answer a five or six...
Re: my answer, this does of course depend on the situation. If someone was being a total inconsiderate asshole and the whole thing was their fault, I'm likely to come flying out my car cussing like a sailor and ready to punch someone in the face. If it was a family with children or an old person or I can take any blame in the incident I'll probably still be pissed but I'll remain silent for the most part until I've calmed down, and then I'll be as rational as I can be.
