That would be due to the fact that he's a short-sighted bigot that can't see the bigger problems that will stem from the other problems he attempts to "fix." Like re-routing the money that would have gone to upkeeping the levees so he can keep playing around in Iraq.
It's an absolute lie. ALL the experts knew BEFORE this storm that those levees were likely to fail. I hate yelling at my television, but every time that jackass gets up to his podium with his canned speeches, I go hoarse. Him and all his BS cronies.
from what i saw, they were calling it an "acceptable risk" and that it wasn't "cost effective" to have levees strong enough to withstand above a cat3 hurricane.
