TEN YEARS AGO, RIGHT BEFORE COLLEGE
Aug. 19th, 2005 09:23 amThe first time I saw "Bart's Comet", I asked my mother what the hell Flanders was singing at the end, and she replied with a foamy rant about the stupid "Que Sera Sera" song. I'd never heard the song before, and her vehemence in her affected upperclass accent filled me with glee. Especially coming from an ex-hippie.
[My mother's mother was a schoolteacher, and from her she picked up the affected way of speaking, which was always more pronounced in angry moods. When my mother was relaxed and being goofy, she'd sound more Cajun.]
