so i think i dinged my car, it has been pulling to the left rather spectacularly. oh well i shouldn't be driving anyway with the price of gas. I like the bus in some respects but I do get a little carsick if people don't let me open a window, and I don't know how to get them to do that.

this is obviously why I've been reading more again. I'm also going to rip The Kid Stays In the Picture as there are no fucking tracks on any of the six CDs.

reg's car is also a little wacked but he got a new battery today for the low low price of $100 with tax and warranty. hope that works, we're supposed to go see the tulips sunday.

I baked him a german chocolate cake forgetting he hates coconut. oh well the rest is still tastah.

Recommendation: Stop driving like a maniac.

edit: this is only if you want better gas mileage.

I had to drive to work today, and it was foggy as hell. Well, not really that bad, but it fogged up my windows. I mean, I start my car this morning, put on the wipers, and the wetness does not flicker. Which means that it's all on the INSIDE of my fucking car. Of all the... I try old newspapers and a crappy polyester sweater before hitting on the brilliant idea of a credit card. Hey, it works on ice! Anyway I had to get gas 'cos I was out anyway, so by the time I got in line to get on the freeway things were slightly more visible. I still have little drops on the inside as we speak, though. So annoying. The idea of putting up with that for the next four months is less than appealing.

one

a few years ago in raleigh, nc, it snowed three feet. so the whole city got into it, the only snowplow was working overtime, people with trucks were being paid to drive over parking lots to pack the shit down, etc etc. driving out the apt. complex was nigh-impossible, but i figured out how to do it, and as long as I left work before the black ice formed it was all good.

two

this morning I saw it was snowing and rolled over and went back to sleep.

three

steve called me up from 520 to tell me that it was kind of bad, but if I stayed in 2nd and all that good shit I should be fine. i cleared off my passenger side window, then the driver side. then the back windshield, then the front windshield. got in my car and the passenger side window was already covered in snow. I ran the wipers for a while, moved the car about three yards out of my spot, then moved it back, as my fingerless gloves were killing me dead.

four

the snow died down and I found my full on leather gloves. Put them on and got in the car. Drove down 45th realizing that there was no way I could make it down Market all the way past the Ballard Bridge. Stopped at Phinney, at least, that was the plan, instead I skidded towards a truck. Fortunately I was skidding slowly enough that I could wave at him to back the fuck up. so I circled back around on the main roads, figuring out how to skid properly but still too afraid, and voila, made it home.
