So I brought in my mp3 archives that have 50s and 60s shit on them. And then Reg is torturing me with Meatloaf. I think that's one thing I can get on board with about the 1950s, the music. I'm sorely disappointed that the only thing to survive that era music-wise is rockabilly. Now I like the Stray Cats as much as the next girl, but I think the Dixies, the Crystals and the Ronettes are sorely underappreciated. Jim Steinman had it, though. He combined every great thing about the 50s on that lovely revival pastische, Bat Out of Hell. Every single rock style is represented. Well, anyway, I'm sure I'll be sick of it in another week. I just want to know where the teenage black girl companions to NSYNC are.

Mostly what usually survives is the crap.
Look at the 70's and 80's, and what people think came out of there. There was some fucking awesome shit that came out then, but most of it is never talked about. Black Flag Live 84 is a fucking awesome album. Punk isn't even really recognized ever in pop music except the Sex Pistols, who sucked. And the closest to Hard Core ever acknowledged is Metal.

Whoa. I think that's a felony in some states.
