this is what i've been bitching about. and this is after a week of recovery.

We watched the P&T BS! about genetically modified food, which has pissed me off anyway - opposition I mean - but now I have even more reason to hate those fuckers. I mean in general I just thought they were dumb retards, but now it's like, they hate Africans. Also I don't get why organic/sustainable farming has to exclude GM crops. I mean, I love organic food, but i thought that just meant no pesticides and shit. Argh, fucking stupid hippies. Anyway.

Last night was fun. We hit up Trinity and got everyone to come and play with us, then chilled out after at Ang & Sid's new place. Killah.

Did you catch the name of that scientist guy who developed all that technology to improve food supply? I wanted to look him up.

You might be refering to Norman Borlaug, the inventer of dwarf wheat, but I haven't seen the ep so I can't say for sure.

I thought that GM crops will cross-pollinate with regular crops or something. Maybe I just pulled that out of my ass.

I don't know what P&T is. I've barely thought about GM crops, and it's good that they are used to fight starvation and whatnot... but it's also true that once you start putting new variables into the food supply there's all kinds of ripple effects that we don't understand yet... and it's not the seed companies' business to give a shit... so, eh.

Penn and Teller.

The FDA and EPA and USDA all have to test GM crops before they can be put out, though.

oh, *that* P&T... they do shows about GM?

I'm not really an alarmist by nature, but seen who's in charge of those agencies lately?

But this is one of those things I read an article in NYRB about maybe 4 years ago, so I'll concede it.

True, but then again, it's not really very productive to think hard about what goes into our food. I haven't read much of Fast Food Nation for that reason. Doesn't mean I would exactly "trust" the process, more like I'm too lazy and cheap to do much about it.

I didn't make it. CrazyB convinced me to go see one of the worst movies ever, Rocky IV. Ehm, sorry, Cinderella Man.

That P&T:BS! on GM food was one of the most awesome TV shows I've ever seen. The Bottled Water one was good too... But n e ways...

You're right, vegan hippie ass motherfuckers are so reitchous about their hip-ass morals that it seems they would rather see people in 3rd world countries starve than let 'the man' engineer some big wheat for them to eat. Because it isn't 'natural.'

Nature also brought us Tsunamis and poisonous mushrooms. Go figure.
