from the "why did I stop drinking" poll:

Best Freaky Answer: [livejournal.com profile] das_prompt -- erotic dreams about Ann Coulter
Best Sexy Answer: [livejournal.com profile] discogravy -- giving it up in favor of another type of "stiff one"
Best GI JOE answer: [livejournal.com profile] asabass -- drinking is for losers and you're a WINNER
Best "you so didn't" answer: [livejournal.com profile] girlstyle -- it's just the hangover talking. you'll apologize to the liquor tomorrow.

ALL FOUR of you can have Mix CDs!
If you want.

The real reason is:

Drinking more than one drink gives me heartburn. And I don't really know why.

I have that same problem with alcohol. Try switching your mixers? I can't do whiskey anymore it's either that or the coke. What's your drink fo choice?

it might be the acidity of the cranberry. for me it's anything carbonated as well (since I can't burp and drinking makes that worse).

me too, kinda. i've had to waaaayyyy cut down in my drinking, because of ulcers acting up, pretty much to where i'm not drinking at all most of the time. alcohol increases production of stomach acid, and all the lovely symptoms that manifest beacause of it. i rememebered white russians are supposed to be ok though, because they coat the stomach*

*i have no idea if this is actually true.

i suspect two factors that I don't want to um talk about in a public entry. However these two factors were in place before I started feeling all sickly drinking, so other than that, and age, I have no idea.

have you considered acid reflux?

you could try drinking a phillips screwdriver (milk of magnesium and vodka) instead.

also I blame atkins - once you stop drinking for a while it's hard to get used to it again, on all levels!

oh, man. that's lame... if you're actually interested in drinking still, OTC acid reducers may help.

:(

good luck!
