I wasn't really sure why they chose to make a film out of Girl with a Pearl Earring, but it was thoroughly enjoyable. Oh Colin Firth, even all dirty and disgusting you rock my world. The lighting and cinematography were very very good, and I can't believe it wasn't shot on location.

In other news I think i hurt my shoulder again. I've been trying to walk more, slightly, esp. with the nice weather, but it was windy as shit yesterday so I didn't want to so much. I eventually put on my trench coat and borrowed one of Reg's pairs of sunglasses so I was pulling it all Matrix style. Which I realize is silly as it hasn't been 1999 or even 2000 for a long ass time, but I felt like a badass. Except when I was carrying a gallon-jug of AZ tea home from the drugstore and had to bloody well switch arms every three minutes. But they don't hurt today, at least.

I also found my web cam and positioned it to see my face from my computer chair at home. I was going to take pics, but I looked so fat I couldn't. Also, I took the "what kind of drunk are you" OKCupid quiz, right, and I scored as "total fucking souse", aka Bacardi 151.

I think it is a potentially difficult book to adapt because there isn't a huge amount of dialogue and it is heavy on description. But I think it translated well on film. It was really beautiful to look at.

Well, I meant my college years and the two weeks of bartending school I took. But I think I benefited from a quasi-wine/liquor-snob mom and the Doubleday cookbook, too.

I'd always figured it was because someone pointed out that Scarlet Johansson totally looks like the chick in the painting and therefore it'd be a good idea to make it a movie.
