Has anyone else ever read the Seven Citadels series? It was a really intricate fantasy quartet with magic and gods and fighting and sibling rivalry and love and death, pretty much perfect for teenagers. As far as I know it wasn't strongly based on any mythology - at least, not just one - for its plotline, which probably helped make the characters' personalities stronger.

that';s a great album. i love the beginning. the cold way the voice just repeats that "birds are singing. sun is shining and i am happy" (or whatever the exact words are).
