I started to read Reviving Ophelia last night but it was kind of stupid so I stopped. I mean, I was depressed starting around age 10 or 11, but nothing else really happened apart from me crying a lot and hating everyone. And most of the girls I knew still were in honor roll throughout elementary, middle school, and jr. high, even the "popular" ones. Besides it focused way too much on environmental pressures, only one chapter on Nature and the other 10 about Nurture.

My mom read the book and decided that it was all about me and I must have be traumatized at that age and she cried about it. Then she informed me of all this and I let her know that middle school didn´t bother me nearly as much as it could have, and I´m not scarred for life or anything.
