someone you physically despise
Jun. 4th, 2004 08:47 amI applied for lower Stafford loan repayments for 2 years; hopefully I'll have my life/income together by then and will actually be able to just Pay It Off.
Went to look at the house possibility last night; it's a little bit sketchy looking on the outside but the inside is better, and the kitchen is huge, which is always a plus. No dishwasher but I bet I can buy our current one off Steve. Well, if I get the room. It's tiny, but the girl has a loft which she may sell to me. In which case I may need to sell off my bed. If anyone here wants a Queen Kraftmatic adjustable, let me know. I got it for free so I won't ask a ton for it. It's really cozy and comfy (just ask any of the numerous boys who've slept in it, ha).
And later Reg and I went to see Jude. I keep referring to him as a "singer/songwriter" but he's more like a hybrid of Moz and Marr than um, a James Taylor type. For one thing I would never call what he does "folk." It's almost "wuss rock" but not really, since he's the only guy doing anything. But his acoustic guitar is hooked up to lots of pedals and effects, so it doesn't at all sound like a standard crappy folk guitar sound. Also his songs are indeed very moz-like, not quite as biting but close. And finally, unlike most singer/songwriters - or any singer, really - he has a fucking gorgeous gorgeous voice. I've been a fan, as I said, since 1999, and he did not disappoint in the least. Even though Reg and I had to leave a bit early. He played "I'm Not Sorry," "The Wedding Song," the Cuba song, "Indian Lover," "Rick James," the Money song (which kind of rips off "Don't Look Back in Anger" chords, ha), and "You Mama You". And a couple other numbers that were newer so I didn't know. Ran out of cash so couldn't buy his new cd, though.
Tonight, Chop Suey or Deep Down. Or both, conceivably. Cast your vote below.
