Chapstick is a strange thing, I thought as a child. I almost never got chapped lips except near the end of winter (February was infamous for its extra six weeks, I mean), but then I lived in a swamp. I first began to get chapped lips when I got a boyfriend went to school in the cold bitter north. I was quite a sheltered lass and the scary JDs recommended Carmex, because "Carmex is like Sex." I still have no idea what that means, but it convinced me. I used to go to sleep with it slathered on, as nothing else really worked on my lips. Nowadays I keep three salves around, one with sunscreen, one for use in the car, and the Carmex in my bedroom. (The former are the standard tubes. They are good for not getting your hands dirty. Whereas the tubs are good for sharing.)
It's raining. This is generally a serious thing. There are only a few times a year when it rains here*. As a result, it screws up traffic and causes accidents. No one knows how to drive when it rains. And for some reason buses are being rerouted as well. Maybe slight floods? Anyway it took me like 25 minutes to drive 3 miles this morning, no shit. No idea why. Well, I know the first 10 minutes were because of one of the aforementioned buses.
