Ok, so, you know, I look 14. Eighteen on a good day. Whatever. I'm aware. It's all good, blah blah blah, it'll be great to get carded at age 40. My Dad and Aunts have the same "problem," I know the direction it takes. I'm used to getting carded at R-rated movies (although that only happens in the Bible Belt). Boys tease me about it, and I can be seen in public with younger men and still have them look bad instead of me.

However. There's always a "However." I get royally creeped out by older men as a result of this. Because, obviously I don't look legal, and THAT IS WHY THEY ARE TALKING TO ME. It's not like I can just come right out and say "Dude, I'm not into pedophiles." I mean, even the guys my own age are gonna be that way right? I figure just saying +/- four years is my limit is the safest way to prevent it.

(On the same note, I really despise geekboys who become interested in me when they find out I read/write SF or have a CS degree. "Because, obviously, a girl like me is gonna go for your loser ass." Find some social maladjust like yourself to fuck; leave me alone.)

And this I must say is why I don't get asian fetishists. If I were Asian, I'd be so freaked out by any white boy for the same reasons.

i periodically (more often than i believe) am mistaken for being asian. of course, i don't exactly have the typical female asian body, so i don't think the fetish totally applies to me. but still, it weirds me out someone i know has a "thing" for asian chicks is hitting on me. it just feels false.

when i was 5 i moved to a new school and the kids made fun of me being a chink. i think its when i first learned to hate people.

It's more about novelty than an actual degree or reading list. There are plenty of fine looking women in the world, but a very small percentage know what a linked list is. Because the average non-geek guy responds even MORE poorly than the average non-geek girl to conversations about databases. The average girl is "bored" by techiespeak they don't understand, while the average guy tends to be either "threatened" or "contemptuous."

that reminds me of a party that my mom took me to, a bona fide drinking party with all her older friends, when i was 17 (yes, my family was all sorts of the OPPOSITE of the standard of Ward Cleaver). i remember this guy that was about 45 hitting on me, and knew that i looked MUCH younger than i really was. i even asked him as i gasped, just how freaking old he thought i was.
