and I lost completely

After the White Stripes* concert, I didn't really feel like driving, and Steve was asleep, so I just stayed home, drank, and wrote a rant on polyamory. I'll go ahead and say now that I've seen it work for some people, but for most its just one more aggravation in a relationship, and I personally have enough problems with guys who are too into their computer or art or whatever without adding another chick into the mix.

motel666. I'm not sure that I like the White Stripes - I mean I think they rock and I love love the first album, but if I never hear "Seven Nation Army" again it's gonna be too soon. So the concert was like, a weird mix of people like me (pencil-neck emo geeks) and thick-necked jocks who listen to 107.7 in this odd little space. "Exhibition Center." Which is basically the big waiting area of the football stadium. It struck me as an odd place to have a concert, but I suppose it's about as big as say The Paramount or whatever. So yeah, they totally rocked out, and played all the songs I like off album one except "Finding It Harder To Be A Gentleman". They had the longest wait before an encore EVER, I guess they really really didn't want to play "Fell in love with a girl" much. We joked that the manager was giving him drugs to perk him up.
herbaliser Wow, Jack White really thinks he's Robert Plant, doesn't he?
motel666... I think he's Robert Plant too.

Date: 2003-09-17 03:50 pm (UTC)Good point. I disagree with you on most points, but on this, I must concur. Sad but true. While I don't think it's fair to completely write off polyamorous relationships based on the fact that most people who try to form "communities" are gross, unfortunately it certainly does seem that if you're not into rennaissance fairs, sci-fi conventions and/or wearing trench coats and pewter jewelry you are often hard-pressed to find people who share your views on sexuality. The situation doesn't seem quite as dire in Europe on the other hand...
