I had serious trouble sleeping last night. Actually I've been having trouble getting to sleep for ages, almost a month now, because I get this cough thing at night. I don't understand it, and it isn't going away. It's especially fun when I'm not sleeping alone. I'm wondering if maybe it's the Emergen-c causing it. That's some irony, there.

But last night I figure it was just the alcohol. After Sunday's debauchery I decided to stop drinking for a while, but I figured Wednesday would be a good day to break the trend. [livejournal.com profile] jjsaysblah was up for an interview and we were going to meet at the Noc Noc for drinks, but they're not open till 5pm. Oops. So we hit the Nitelite instead. I'd never been there, it's pretty much a dive but at 4:30 in the afternoon that's good. We chatted and drank, and drank and chatted, and then I got the munchies and we went to Jai Thai. (I always want to say Jai Alai.)

Anyway after dinner I drove home and watched my hour of Friends. I still had the urge for drunk food, so I made popcorn and put lots of cheeze powder on it. It was pretty fucking good, but it made me feel rather lethargic for the rest of the evening. And plus I was feeling the non-booze-love again. Nonetheless we were feeling the [livejournal.com profile] brennx0r love, so we drove out and met with her and her crüe. That was fun; watch this space for the coolest Billy Idol pose evah, performed by yours truly.

But I only wanted one drink and then I wanted to go home. No Contour. Gasp. I went to bed at midnight, although I fell in and out of sleep for hours, which sucked. This cough thing is really annoying me.

I used to get "night cough" too. I have no idea why it only happened at night, but, yeah. Usually at night in the winter. I would cure it by drinking a cup of something hot when it first started up, and that usually made my throat quit being a fuckup.

night coughs are the flipping WORST...you're freeping exhausted, and you're TRYING to fall asleep, but your lungs seem to be clutching your arms every other minute and shaking the hell out of you, saying 'hey, you! we're not done with you yet!'

Well, medical me says that you might have some fluid in your lungs that would make you cough only at night. When you're standing up it's all at the bottom and doesn't bother you. When you try and lay down it spreads all over and it's harder to breathe. Might want an x-ray if it continues. just a thought.

or alergies. add anything new to the house recently? animals, fluffy rugs, curtains, wall tapestry anything that could collect dust. Mattress getting old? just things any medical professional is going to ask you about, and tell you to eliminate. saves you on $ and time!
