that's the end.

I loved last night's Buffy. Joss did it all right. Let's start with the Angel appearance. First of all, as those of us who watch his show* know, he's not the brooding lover that he once was. And he wasn't. It was awesome. I have to admit that I like Angel making jokes and shit, and I was also glad that HE WAS ONLY IN THAT ONE SCENE. It's Buffy's show, goddammit. ("I'm the one who started that whole soul thing.")
And then moving forward. Dawn - where did she get a taser again? being angry at Buffy, but not so angry that she went ballistic like she used to do. Nice. Very nice. And then we get the Spike scene. "I have no pride, you know this." I sorta wanted a hump scene, but I guess after last year they could not have gone there again. I was quite happy that the First ended up giving away the key to defeating it, too. Well, ok, the real key to defeating it was the amulet thing Angel brought, but you know.
It sort of reminded me of Graduation Day, which was on F/X fairly recently. We knew something was going to happen to kill the Mayor, but we weren't sure what exactly. I personally am pleased as punch that there are now a million Slayers or so, although I think they shouldn't be actual Slayers, till, um, they start menses. But that was sort of a nitpicky thing. Anyways.
Do I even have to mention the totally awesome D&D scene the night before? I think I do, as there was TROGDOR IN THE NIGHT! And everyone just being good. And oh, the reference to Kennedy's tongue piercing was great. As was Dawn's delayed reaction. Oh, and Faith and Robin were good, too. "Aright, let's go again, right now." God that girl is hot.
Oh, and do I even have to mention Anya's "cannon fodder" line. I guess. I love that girl. I'm sorry she's dead, but then again, what can you do. Someone had to die, and it couldn't be one of the Core group, or Dawn. And Andrew would have been too obvious. I'm not convinced that Spike is dead, but. We'll see I suppose.
And Sunnydale is all gone. I can't say I'm sorry in the least about that, either. But I haven't quite grasped the fact that the show is over yet, either. Hm.

Since we all love spoilers...

I was trying to figure that one out... particularly because I already knew about this:
The WB has renewed its vampire series Angel for a full fifth season, with former Buffy the Vampire Slayer cast member James Marsters joining the show as Spike, Variety reported. But cast member Charisma Carpenter, who plays Cordelia, is not expected to return as a series regular, the trade paper reported.
