Awesome, you can play with a ring with your mouse on that site.

I found the following stats:

97% of participants found NuvaRing® easy to insert.
96% found NuvaRing® easy to remove.
98% said NuvaRing® was never or rarely uncomfortable or distracting.
97% said they were likely to continue using NuvaRing®.

Do you see the same problem with it that I do?

Depo provera is the way to go. One shot every three months.. my doc said it's more effective than The Pill.

Just a week :/ buuuut its side effects are similar to those of the pill (and of course every body reacts differently), so it's far more advantageous to use something you only have to worry about a few times per year..

Speaking of which, is everyone else looking forward to the male birth control pill as much as I am? There are FAR less side effects, and is supposed to be 100% effective. I haven't been able to find any recent documentation on it, but I heard it was in the final stage of FDA testing.

Pill kicks ass, don't have to worry about pregnancy, periods last 3 days tops, PMS is next to nill. I've heard that Depo's even better, I like the idea of one shot 4 times a year, and you pretty much never get your period, although some women say they have a heavy period for a couple weeks when they first start. Then again, I've never really had side effects from any medication, so maybe not. Sterilization one of these days is tempting, since I don't want kids and it seems more cost effective. :)

you know the drill...

It's all about the condoms if you aren't in a monogamous relationship, so I'm wondering if I've missed something in your LJ. That said;

depo and the Pill fuck up a small percentage of the chicks on them. Will it be you? feel lucky, punk? ie, depends on your risk tolerence..are you okay with mood swings and weight gain roulette? anything hormonal is chancey, side effects wise.

The humble diaphram (and its european relative, the cervical cap) is a good stop-gap if you're waffling about the pill. its cheap, non-permanent, and the side effects are nil. also doubles as a period "keeper" (like "Instead") the biggest drawbacks: 1) gotta put it in 20 minutes before intercourse 2) gotta leave it in 6 hours after intercourse 3)up to 20% failure, especially if not used properly 4) if your guy is really big, or you're really small, you might "notice" it more than you like.

and if you hate it, you can use it as a post-modern cat toy!

i tolerate condoms b/c they are the cheapest, easiest, most immediate form of birth control. it's not that i begrudge the loss of sensation or anything sexist like that... i just dont trust em (with good cause having had more than one bad experience with the little buggers failing in their duties). i get real paranoid using them by themselves... and much prefer the woman to be on some sort of back up plan in addition to the party hats.

had a steady GF who was allergic to latex... and the pill made her nutty... so we just risked it. talk about pressure... and mood killing paranoia. gah!

Looks like I'm the only one who voted sterilization (at this exact moment, anyway).

Of course, I'm married, too.

He's snipped, I've never been on any form of birth control in my life. We did the condom thing, before he went through with the vasectomy, though.

We decided on that after going through the options and ended up on vasectomy since it was the one that wouldn't have as many possible problems. And it was an out-patient thing for him. My dad even drove him home.

That was a little over a year ago now, and he hasn't regretted it once. Well...that I'm aware of, but I'm pretty damn sure he hasn't.

I heart my IUD. It releases a progesterone analog, so no more periods, ever.

I have a friend who has the copper IUD, but she went crazy on the Pill.

I went for the NuvaRing, so far, so good.
