I saw Reloaded last night. Hm, what can I say. I liked it quite a bit, although it seems like it was more of a setup for the third movie. Of course, so was, um, Attack of the Clones. This was waaay better. I'm not going to say much more for the benefit of the 4 people who read this that haven't seen it yet, but feel free to put spoilers in the comments. I will say that the action was completely fucking rad, and the rest of it wasn't terrible. IMNSHO.
I finished Ubik last week. I liked it but... I dunno. It's not on my top ten list of Dick, for sure. As I said before, the characters didn't resonate with me. Good plot, though. And especially what with Matrix and all. Is it or isn't it? The very ending, I mean, was kind of nice in that regard.
Five people on LJ are interested in jet-setting, apparently. I suppose a couple of us got to it from popularpeople, but for a long time I was the only person with it.
I was discussing it with a few people. I suppose most of the "Zionists" are mixed-race because the other "ones" picked a PC lot to repopulate it. Most of the "children of Zion" therefore look mulatto or whatever. And I suppose that the machines have some weird system in place where, if you "impregnate" someone in the Matrix, their genetic material also gets mixed in the "lab". On the other hand, how do people know what they're supposed to look like?
I think its safer to assume that Zion looks largely non-white (as opposed to the cracker-ville Matrix) because we're dealing with the demographics of the world in Zion, as opposed to the demographics of the US.
I didn't much care for the obvious CG work on parts of the fight scenes, but I did dig the music to them. I had to stop looking at it as a fight and more like a violent dance.
