  • Steve loaned me Me Talk Pretty One Day and so far I'm abso-fucking-lutely adoring it. It has totally made me want to do speed. Well, ok, not really.

  • We watched Pillow Talk a little while ago. Rock Hudson is pretty hawt for a large gay man. But Doris Day is ... not.

  • I just read this article and I decided to annotate. (But if you syndicated me, you knew that.)

  • BTW, fill out my poll about my TMI posts if you haven't yet.

  • Also download the new Radiohead album if you haven't yet, because it's really pretty good.

"i misspelled furniture and lost the spelling bee"

Weird. The only spelling bee I competed in was in the third grade, and I misspelled "furniture".

Hah, it's gotten to the point where I can't work myself up into an embittered rage at women in good faith because I know exactly to what extent my failures with them are based on my own flaws and to what extent they involve dealing with quirks of the female psyche I'm simply too egotistical, obstinate and cantakerous to want to appease.

Not that that stops me, of course. Let's not get nuts or anything.

Funny, before reading the comments to her post, the description of what women want caused me to go off on a rantish treatment of these top-ten turn-ons in my own LJ that pretty much paints me as an egotistical, obstinate, cantankerous misogynist that can't be bothered to appease a lot of quirks of the female psyche.

The article kind of described me as I was at like, sixteen or seventeen. I like to think that ten years later I've improved. The last guy I seriously dated was everything I wanted except for mutual admiration. Which I think should be a deal-breaker as much as anything.

Last I checked, the leaked copy of HTTT wasn't completely mixed... I was thinking about downloading it and saving the songs away until I got the final version, just to see the difference, but haven't gotten around to it yet...

Has the final version since been leaked?

    not that I know of...

you should read david sedaris's other books. They are pleasant and royally fucked up all at once.
I think you would appreciate Barrel Fever.

As for Pillow Talk, that is one of my favorite films.
I love a good sex comedy from that era, especially starring a fag hag and her best gay friend.

Makes Will and Grace seem like chopped liver.

Me Talk Pretty One Day is a great book! You should check out other Sedaris books if you like that one. A door knob-licking child that refers to speech class as the "Future Homosexuals of America" is just too funny!

have you heard sedaris read any of his stuff? it's even more amusing since his delivery is great and his voice is just intrinsically funny.

interesting to learn being visually appealing isn't a turn on for women. guess i can quit shaving and wasting money on haircuts...

Yeah, as I pointed out, that is bullshit erik. you are very attractive visually and you may as well keep it up. i guarantee you walk into a bar in seattle and women will approach you. if not, well, you can beat me up.

in all the (two) bars i visited in seattle, i was never approached by a female.

oh wait, the bartenders walked toward me. rats... no beating. stupid technicalities.

    gay bars?
