I identify with the following:
1. I watch Buffy every week.
2. ... and Angel.

3. I had a huge crush on Q when I was a teenager.
4. ... and Data.

3. I enjoy 80s new wave without Irony.

You have a higher geek quotient than I do... though maybe my geek-bent is more literary in nature (and archaically-oriented). ;)

Is there something ironic about appreciating '80s New Wave? Gary Numan is great.

I dunno, every time I go out to BAR the hipsters are listening to mashups of 80s music and I can't really believe they actually genuinely like it. It's un-Gen-X to have genuine appreciation for cheeze, as opposed to liking it merely because it IS cheeze. if that makes sense. Argh. I mean, I like 80s music because I think it's good, not because it's the hip trendy thing to do.

Yeah, I've seen that. I just consider the '80s to have included good music and bad, just like any other decade. There was a greater selection of good in certain categories, and those categories happen to be among those that I like most, so I like an awful lot of '80s music. Thomas Dolby, Gary Numan, Pat Benatar, and Corey Hart are all great.

Corey Hart

Ugh, I've been trying to remember his last name. Thanks! I was listening to "sunglasses at night" in my car, and couldn't remember the last name. I asked the parking attendant if he knew, but that guy was a 50-something haitian immigrant. There's irony - why would I think that guy knew...

You're welcome.

Ya know that scene in one of the Eddy Murphy movies (probably Beverly Hills Cop) where he stop, looks, and laughs at a guy in a New Wave outfit? That was me. Or at least it might as well have been. I owned (and wore quite regularly) the same outfit. (Well, okay -- the colors were reversed...)

I love 80's music...

And while I don't own any Australian DVD sets, I own a number of UK DVD's... (They don't sell Doctor Who as a set. Well, there is the Key to Time series, but my parents got me that (region 1) for Christmas.) I expect I'll be getting Blakes 7 on UK DVD relatively soon...
