he's only making a statement about positive atheism, which is the assertion that 'there are no gods' when he says most athiests know they can't disprove gods. negative atheism which is far more common is just that 'all the options for theism i've been presented are false, and so there must not be any gods.' but it still makes a case.
agnosticism is a more intellectually honest view, since you can't really know until you die, so what's the point in bothering about it?

Friend Calls -- "Hey what's that noise in the background?" Atheist: "I can't get to a window to see, so it must be nothing." Agnostic:"I can't get to the window to see, and it'll be gone by the time I do, so there's no point in surmising what it is"
emotionally of course they're probably both athesists.
