  • The Pallbearer with Schwimmer and Paltrow. I liked it a lot more than I thought I would; mainly just watched it because of boredom but I kind got into it. Mainly because it was a rip-off of The Graduate I guess.

  • Harriet the Spy with Dawn Trachtenberg. Mainly watched it because of the "gosh-darn that girl from Buffy used to be even younger" factor, but I did love the book as a young'un, and they did keep pretty close to it. Although they got rid of a lot of the "spying" in favor of the friendship angle. PLUS they took out my favorite bit, the whole Dancing School thing. I sooo wanted to hear her yell "I'll be DAMNED if I go to dancing school!"

  • Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, which I simply fucking adored. Clooney is clearly taking hints from Soderburgh, and the cameos of Pitt and Damon were beyond classy. Although I did have Beautiful Mind/Tyler Durden flashbacks any time Clooney was onscreen. (I'm thinking he was real, though.)

(This LJ post was brought to you by HBO, Encore!, and [livejournal.com profile] asabass. Past sponsers have included Showtime, Cinemax and Netflix.)

"That girl from Buffy" will forever be known to me as Nona from Pete and Pete.

Yes, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind was quite good.

Eventually someone should do Confessions of Dangerous Minds. Sam Rockwell could duet with Coolio on Gangsta's Paradise.

And Both of their asses would be showing.

So ok I read magazines at the gym while I work out, which is where I read about Love Liza, and there was also a big article with Sam Rockwell in which he talks about how it's almost a preq. for him to have an ass scene in his movies (like Green Mile). It would be funny if he was like "OK, so I think I should show my ass here, 'cos I only showed it twice so far in the film" to Clooney. And Clooney is like "Full on camera 3, zoom in."

Does not listing past sponsers create an economic disincentive for firms to sponser more than one successive post of yours?

    you'd think so

And as a matter of fact, Showtime and Cinemax are both off my sponsers list. Netflix however is not.

Dude, who knew Michelle Trachtenberg would be as hot as she is today? I sure as hell didn't expect it. And Harriet the Spy rules :)

I didn't want to like The Pallbearer and yet somehow it drew me in.

Yeah, Confessions had me thinking over the oddities of life for a couple hours. I got some weird sense of inspiration, but after awhile I just got tired of it (mainly because I was drunk and wouldn't remember most of it), so I sat through National Security to get my mind off of it. NS is a pretty good get-drunk-and-forget-deep-thought kind of movie, though I wouldn't say it is a good movie. =b
