no strength to argue
Dec. 13th, 2002 02:22 pmI finished The Silicon Valley Diet last night. I enjoyed it but I don't know if I'd give it a big hearty recommendation. Modern short stories are never coherent enough for me, except in the SF realm that is. Although I did like this one book of shorts I read last year, by a woman whose name escapes me... anyway one of the stories was about a woman who fell madly in love with the Nautilus machine at her gym, to the extent that she snuck in at night to be alone with it.
Then I read more poetry of Dot Parker. That stuff is great, great, great. Every other poem, I wanted to type up in here just to show you, but that would just take too long. Instead I'll recommend the
dorothyparker group (in fact this poem is one of the ones I read last night).
edit: By the way, this is a very interesting article about evolutionary and cultural reasoning behind female aggression (or lack thereof).
