Today's the first day since Saturday (er, early Sunday morning?) that I consumed any sort of drug. I figure caffeine isn't that bad of one, anyway. I had a short latte and it woke me right up, made me all energetic and shit, a little happy and peppy and alive. I was even checking out cute gay boys at Solstice. Ah yeah.

No turkey for me tomorrow. That's ok, my vegan housemate and I are going to make potatoes and lasagna and dressing and two kinds of pies. It'll be All Good. (Besides Steve bought me KFC last night, thus fulfilling my Poultry Requirements for the week.)

I still don't have a job, although one of my recruiters seems to give a fuck about it. The other one is probably on vacation or something. I'll give that fucker a call on Monday. I spent over two hours yesterday just going down a list of Seattle companies, seeing which ones had openings and shit. I need to write one more resume that doesn't seem so MSFT-product-centric, since there are still a few holdouts even here. It's practically impossible to find a job between TG and xmas, but hell, what else do I have to do with my time?

Besides read and watch TV and surf, I guess. I started reading The Phantom of the Opera, it's been on my list for ages and I finally got a hardcopy of it from the lie-bury. I like it a lot so far. The language is just a little on the flowery side but not excessively so. Anyway it is a translation so what can you do. The flowery language isn't as well done as, say, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, I mean. But it's definitely inspiring. Maybe I should pop the novel back open and rewrite it. It's tricky to make the language nice when you're writing first-person as a teenaged boy, though. Plus you don't want it too nice since then the kids won't read it. Well, we'll see what we can do.
