lauralhMy friend Keith has told me for a while that I should see Ginger Snaps, and tonight it was on cable, so I did.
Wow. It's an amazing movie. I didn't know what to expect, just horror cheese, but it's really not. It's about two sisters (Ginger and Bridget) who are basically the school freaks, and Ginger is bit by a werewolf the same day she gets her first period. So there's a bit of confusion with the symptoms at first, but they soon figure out what the deal is. Unfortunately Ginger is very much under the influence, and wavers big-time between loving the power and hating it, while Bridget just wants her sister back the way things were.
So basically it's a really GOOD horror movie, not at all fun cheese with tons of people dying, but actual main characters under the influence of murderous rages, family members almost killing each other, etc. The suspense really got to me in a way no movie has in ages, pulse racing and everything. Definitely a great date movie.
