I was unspeakably happy yesterday morning when I saw that it was grey and cool outside. This is why I live in Seattle, so I can dwell on the melancholic sublimity of the wet autumn. And have an excuse to drink lattes after sunset.

I spent most of last fall walking back and forth between Nick's apartment and the Redmond Town Center to get groceries, watch movies, read books, and go to cafes. The cold weather puts me on edge sometimes, but in a good way. The way that makes me want to dance in the wind, breathe deeply and feel alive.

And occasionally to beat people up, although more often I want to kiss a boy while the leaves swirl around in the wind, all cheeze and hollywood-like. The weather makes me wish I were in a movie, the slow French kind that goes on for hours with nothing happening till about 20 minutes to the end - at which point it all comes to a head.

I agree with you 110%, right up until the slow French movie part. :-/

after what you said about europe- and ana's reminding me (anon post below) of europe- I started going through my Germany/Prague photos again.

I think this one (http://www.laural.com/gallery/europe/berlin/01-hostel.jpg) is definitely one of my most favorite photos ever. The contrast of the stark greyness of post-communistic Berlin with the Green and Red, plus the rule of thirds or whatever, just speaks to me. There was so much graffitti in Europe.

oooh this post makes me happy
