more dick than ever
Sep. 7th, 2002 03:57 pmI finally finished A Scanner Darkly. Holy Christ that's a fucked up book. I mean OK, the other books of his were fucked up too but this one takes the cake. It's not really SF at all, either - it's just basically about a made-up drug and some addicts, with a healthy dash of paranoia/conspiracy theories thrown in.
And I've probably said it before, but Philip K. Dick is now my favorite author. For a while there it was Orson Scott Card, but his writing is like a child's compared to PKD. I haven't even read that many of his books, but after only two I was convinced anyway. Must must must check out more from the library.

I found your LJ via Lara7. I'm enjoying it.
One time a friend introduced me to a lady at a party as "a big Dick fan" before realizing his unintentional double entendre. Thank whatever this unfortunate moniker didn't stick with me!
