Friday night I watched Thelma and Louise for the first time ever while Joel fell asleep on my lap. It's really dreadful and not even young Brad Pitt could redeem it, especially with that terrible accent. But I forced myself to watch it all the way through. I dunno, I like the idea of women kicking ass but they weren't even all that good at it, whining too much... even Sugar and Spice had more strong female role models than that.

Next day we cleaned up in preparation for the going-away party. Two most frequently heard questions: "Is this your house?" and "When exactly are you leaving?" My housemates still probably think it's hilarious that we had someone else's party at our place, but oh well. I caught a bit of sun on my shoulders and that probably contributed to my tiredness later, as did excessive MSG I'm sure. ..

At the BBQ I stayed in the corner talking to

hydrozoa and her dude, because no one would argue with her about rape. I meant to tell her the nun rape joke but completely forgot it at the time. Oh well. I'll do it some other time. We talked about muppets and Simpsons and writing and work, which I suppose I could have done with any other people but no one even tried to talk to me.

We chilled out afterwards and watched Iron Chef. The mystery meat was veal, which actually got us pretty hungry and psyched for Chinese food. Afterwards we went to the Luau with Steve and Luna, and then I got the hiccups just as we were leaving. The boys took great pleasure in trying to scare the hiccups out of me to no avail. I tried to exhale and then hold my breath, but that didn't work. Inhaling then holding did, though. Note to self: remember this.
