Yes but reading about Ayn Rand is more like flogging yourself with a steel-tipped cat o' nine tails while screaming, "I am free!" and then commanding someone to piss on you.
I wasn't reading about Ayn Rand per se. I just realized yesterday that I don't really know anything about Objectivism beyond "enlightened self-interest," despite reading The Fountainhead a few years back.
For some reason though, it really pissed me off. I mean it's obviously just as much mental masturbation as any sort of philosophy, but it insists that "reason" demands that IT IS THE ONLY TRUE WAY. At least most cults just ask you to take it on FAITH that they are the only true way...
(The bits about reality being objective made me crack up, though.)
