One of the annoying previews I saw last night was for Swimfan. It kind of looks to me like a teenage version of Fatal Attraction. Boy, did that piss me off. How come movies are never about men getting some and going all psycho stalker? Oh, I guess that never happens. Only a woman would have sex once and get totally criminally obsessive about the guy. What the fuck ever.

Hi. I was jut wondering if I could just borrow a moment of you time sort of speak. My name is Jaye Wiley and I am creating an experiment. I just pushed the random option my live journal page, in which connected me to you. Why you? Why not. I have just glanced at your recent entries and I was intrigued about your life. For what I did for my journal entries was incorporate it into some sort of zany, yet amusing satire about my life. Which includes exaggerated stories of my life, and the occasional rants about any subject that comes to mind. The problem is that I lack a fan base. I have a small group of friends who think that the stuff I type about is great, but I want to get my life out there into the world. The reason why I wanted to express my thoughts and feelings this way because I thought I would get a kick out of making my dull life a little bit more interesting. Yes. I guess what we're supposed to conclude from Hollywood is that women who seduce and who like sex are irrational and crazy. Good girls sit and be good and abstain, or some such. I agree with "what the fuck ever." :)

I had pretty much that exact same reaction when I saw the preview.

If nothing else, that plotline has been done to death. I mean, Fatal Attraction, Basic Instinct, Body Chemistry, The Crush, and lets not forget the Poison Ivy movies. Bleh.

I don't think it's just aging pedophiles.

I think our society is ridiculously sex-obsessed in an unhealthy way. Women are completely commodified, but most men allow women to have an insane amount of control over them (control that the women don't usually ask for). Men fuck *themselves* up chasing after women, basing their self-esteem and self-worth on having beautiful women find them attractive (as signified by fucking). they ruing marraiges, careers, fortunes, and lives in pursuit of women. But instead of examining their own behavior and saying, "wow, that's stupid" they project it onto women as a gender, giving rise to this boogey(wo)man of sexually active girls who have power over every man in the univese and abuse that power for twisted ends.

If it were just a few isolated pedophiles, these movies wouldn't get made. It's our entire society.

Yep, I saw that preview also and it made me wanna blow chunks. At the theatre I was at they also had this commercial for the Marines before the previews and it showed this young fit man scaling the side of a mountain and shit and then they have this other image over it of the white guy Marine spooning food into a little asian girl's mouth. God, I barely made it through those.
