christ, the pain is unbearable
May. 20th, 2002 10:32 amI have a sore throat. The pain is somewhat akin to swallowing razors, and totally prevents sleep. Fortunately it's just one swollen gland, on the left, which means it's the same thing my housemate had a few weeks back. He described the symptoms to me, and I have them now. (Sore throat? check. Mild cough? check. Running fever? check.)
so as soon as I buy some chicken soup, I'm going back to bed. Already called in sick. For a time I was worried that my gland was so infected it would explode - like the appendix - so I gargled with hydrogen peroxide to try to kill some bacteria. (I mean, my throat didn't hurt all weekend when I was obviously under the influence of a cold virus, but after a couple of beers yesterday it flamed up again.) That means bacteria, right? It's a little better after that, but still not good.

Oh - don't don't don't swallow it. (duh)
