lauralhI was in a sort of crappy mood yesterday, exacerbated by the sad Buffy last night. I got home to an empty apartment (Nick was at a leadership conference at a nearby resort), and managed to get some writing done, and then I watched Xander and Anya break up. I knew it would happen, but it played out quite sadly, and then I was all alone in my apartment, and I kept thinking sad thoughts about this.
After finally concluding that all I really wanted was someone to hold me as I fell asleep, I got ready for bed, choking on my tears. And then I heard a knock on the door. "God that was a miserable waste of time," he announced. He was supposed to stay the night, but he obviously didn't care if they paid for the empty hotel room or not. "Even being apart for that short time made me really miss you," he said, and the feeling was mutual. We snuggled in bed till we fell asleep.
