geeking out
Feb. 23rd, 2002 11:33 pmNick is feeling a bit under the weather, so we went to bed early. And then I woke up early, and I wondered where the hell my Replacements mp3s were. I mean, I knew they were on one of my CDs, but I wasn't sure which. So I had to search through my LIST of mp3s. Every time I make a new CD, I do a "DIR /S/W >> LIST.TXT" to make sure I know which songs are on it.
But that really kind of sucks. I was thinking, "You know, I could probably write a program that would search through the list for a song, and return the number of the CD. Wait, maybe someone else already did it..." And they did! I spent another thirty minutes looking for the crack (because ok, while I'm not opposed to shareware in principle, it shouldn't cost $40) and then voila. Put in all 14 of my CDs and had it made. Oh yeah.
Might go skiing tomorrow if the conditions are acceptable. I bought a new jacket and goggles to facilitate this. When I modeled them, Nick said, "You actually look like a Seattle-ite!" (Because no one here wears anything stylish in the winter, just their ski gear.)
