So we went out to see Jerry Abstract and Richie Hawtin (aka plastikman) play last night. And they actually play, not merely spin. Although I'm a fan of "merely spinning", I'm a much bigger fan of spinning+live mixing. It just makes me hot. And Abstract is one of my favorite locals. I praise DJs who can get a crowd dancing with their own tastes. Although it was a bit early there were definitely dancers. Of course by the time Hawtin got up it was late enough that the liquor had loosened people's hips, and it was even a little crowded. Not too crowded mind, there was still room to dance in a more fun manner than the sardine twist, but I felt happy at all the ex-ravers present.
