So after skiing, Nick and I came home, showered, then ate mucho Indian Food. I pretty much fell asleep after that, almost on the drive home but not quite. Actually, I totally woke up because of a scary parking situation. We parked on the side of a very steep hill, and at one point Nick was trying to back up, but instead started going forward. If he hadn't gunned the engine, we definitely would have hit the next car down. I shut my eyes and screamed "FUCK!" till we were out of harm's way.

It was still fairly early by the time we got back, but I was wiped out and passed right out. Consequently I woke up around 9am or so. After an attack of spicy anus, I tried to go back to sleep (Nick was nowhere near the land of the living), but no dice. Instead I decided to look into that whole Once-a-month-cooking thing, since we now have a microwave, and I have a job.

(Basically the concept is you spend one day a month cooking five meals or so, enough to feed a family of four for thirty days, and freeze it all. You aren't supposed to cook it entirely through, so that you can cook it instead of thawing and heating it, which is the part I didn't really get.)

So I compiled a list of five or so recipes, wrote out a grocery list (Nick said he needed soap, and I was out of CD-Rs), and went for it. I spent more at the grocery store than I've ever spent in my life. I guess that's what normal people do, buy enough food to last the week? Well, I doubt single people do it. Oh well. I made a lasagna and a curry, which should be good for the week.

I'm heady with all this cash (got paid AND got the IRS refund). I think I'm going to buy me a webcam this week. then people can watch me pretend to work!

Details of my odd dream... )
