After a couple of years, no kidding, of only reading fanfic pretty much, I've started reading again. Reg held me down at gunpoint and forced me to read Malcolm Gladwell's books - we did Outliers audio last year on road trips, and then Blink and The Tipping Point. Good stuff, although I'd prefer to read them if they were twice as long/in depth.

And then some hiking books, Trail Tested and Chris Townsend's and a couple others on Kindle, 75 Scrambles from the library, and a Mt. Rainier book with like 200 trails.

Finally some youth fantasy books, got through The Curse Workers trilogy last night (although I'm sure more are coming) by Holly Black, that was rather enjoyable. Mobsters+con artists+magic, what's not to love? I'd read Tithe when it first came out, and the two sequels this week. Read the first three books in the Seven Realms series from the library too, definitely gripping.

How do you get your audiobooks? I have an audible subscription and lots of books, but had to rip them all to mp3 to work in the car, which was a huge pain. what.cd and other sites also have a bunch.

Also, you know about Overdrive (free kindle + audiobooks) from SPL, right?

The Gladwell was 6 CDs, it was easier for the car just to do that (the DVD drive on Reg's computer at the time wasn't working). Otherwise I guess Pirate Bay.

And yeah, I've gotten stuff from Overdrive a few years back, pre-kindle, with a Palm emulator in fact. I lost my card though so I'm dealing with Bellevue/King County shit now, and the digital collection here is pants. Which is fine, cos I prefer reading books a lot more, I am like the opposite of an auditory learner. I've literally gotten into car accidents concentrating on CDs.
