I thought there was only one reason to buy those, which I hadn't done in a few years now. Anyway I just shaved my left leg and armpits with it, only two cuts. Which is about as many as I do with a Gillette. You gotta take your time with it, but the knack is quite easy to pick up. Just started it flat and slightly angled it till it "hooked." Rinsing is a lot easier, ALL the hairs come out.
• Got Reg's dad (and mom) a Snapfish collage of family photos from Mexico and the Caribbean. Very cute. Reg bought an 8x10 frame for it, but it was a cheap frame and took a while for us to get the photo straightened. But man, I love this brave new world, where I can pick out photos and get them printed at Walgreens. (I ordered about a hundred of my photos last month, in hopes of framing them in our new place. Which is still on - the gas his parents pay for, and the new tolls that are starting soon, will be more than the rent difference, so they have no qualms.)
• Before giving the gift, we met up at the Fremont Solstice Festival. I shared a pulled-pork sammich with Reg before his parents found us, then his mom wanted a mocha (decaf, lol) and he and I shared a vanilla latte. Had to add sugar, about a quarter pound, so it was palatable. Normally I'd add a half-pound, so it was pretty damn good coffee. Then we wandered about; it was a little nippy, I wore my arm warmers and down vest over a short-sleeve shirt and under my REI rain jacket, since it rained for about two minutes. Our favorite bit had to be the art car lot; our least favorite part was the prolife booth.
• The Triangle Pub has been turned into "9 Million in Unmarked Bills." Still a bar but with gastro-food that has truffle oil in most stuff. And lamb sliders. Those, and the parmesan garlic fries, were pretty damn good.
• This weekend is another backpacking trip, probably north of Lake Wenatchee/near White River.
